Facilitator and Consultant

Do you need a facilitator who is an experienced and creative group process designer for virtual and face to face events?

I am a group process designer and creative thinker who designs experiences that get people out of their usual ways of thinking. I design highly engaged interactions sensitive to both introverts and extroverts and stimulate new ways of thinking and knowing one another. Team-building is a natural byproduct of doing the work together, as opposed to doing team-building for team-building’s sake.

For organizations, stuckness can happen when the work is not clear and there is not a feeling of progress. Having a witness and reflector can create a clarity of direction that liberates that group. One of my strengths is seeing patterns in the chaos of information. Sensing those patterns helps the organization see where they want to go. I am a presence in the room — virtual or otherwise — who settles a group in their own complexities so the important pieces rise to the surface.

In creating circumstances for groups to work, see, and experience differently, the results are new solutions and ideas they generate for themselves. This is an empowering experience, grounding groups in the knowledge that they have the ability, resources, and wisdom to ensure their own liberation from stuckness.

Visual Facilitation

Julie Gieseke is an extraordinary thought partner and practitioner. Her ability to listen and synthesize complex ideas and conversations allows for a remarkably accurate snapshot of a group’s outputs and thinking and presents it in a way that supports continued integration and learning. She is also a wonderful instructional designer and consistently enriches the experience of participants through her meaning-making and brilliant sense of humor.

Julie Gieseke is a phenomenal meeting facilitator and visual co-creator. In our planning process, Julie was responsive, creative, prepared, unflagging, and effective. I was particularly impressed with the ease and efficiency with which she managed the agenda and the group during the meeting. She made the attendees’ time highly productive and outcome artifacts from the meeting will have lasting value. It was a great new experience to work with a professional so skilled at her art and the art of productive discussion. I will not hesitate to ask her to co-create meetings again.

I’ve had a number of opportunities to observe Julie in action as a “Mind Mapper” and visual capture professional, with different organizations. Her work is outstanding, and brings a whole new dimension to how a planning or strategy session flows. It’s great to watch workshop participants begin to interact with her designs as they realize they are seeing their thoughts and discussions bloom into images and graphics in real time, providing them with new ways of thinking about their situation and imagining solutions.
